12/01/1998: THE GREATEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME

Posted By: Pulido

HOw can you say Very Bad things was the worst movie you'd ever seen when in fact it was THE BEST! The movie starts out badly... A nervous wife badgering her husband about a wedding, and group of guys going to bachelor party! THis has been done before. Cameron Diaz playing someone getting married has just been done this year, and OF COURSE something bad is going to happen at the bahelor party(just like in the movie "Bachelor Party"). In the first scenes we are given bad jokes, and a set of stereotypical characters... A conservative, a husband, a slick-talker, a resentful brother, and a nobody as a mockery of how empty everyone is. But what happens when stereotypical characters are hit with a big slap in the face? Everyone is comparing this movie to other movies, but in that sense you are wrong, because this movie is actually a movie mocking movies. Steven King gains fame because his horror mocks our greatest held social values (family, religion, life), but since we live in such a movie ridden society it is time to start mocking movies. A movie like this has never been done (this well anyway) and as trailblazer it is excellent. This movie is very sensitive to initial conditions, and everything that we are introduced to in the beginning is consistent with everything that happens in the end. This movie was most certainly made by a perfectionist because everything happened logically. No "movie-logic" here... nothing happening at random. Everything here happened because it could happen. The movie ends when we see what happens to the movie stereotypes in the real world. Everyone... just see it again.
