12/03/1998: Clarifying

Posted By: Dumb_Bastard

Everyone around here knows that Lionel can't explain his way out of a bridge game with his schitzophrenic grandmother, so here I go again filling in the gaps. *BIG sarcastic roll of eyes* (You can see how good MY track record is at getting the facts straight...)

Anyways, a snuff flick is a movie in which the person is killed specifically for the purpose of the movie. They involve active murder. Typical rumors include girls who are in pornos getting killed when the sex is finished, etc. etc. etc...

They differ from Faces of Death et al, which are films of deaths as they occur. This is legal, if amazingly distasteful.

I love knowing that I could get put away for having "obscene material" in my possession. Obviously, things like kiddie porn are obscene and also amazingly illegal (the forced rape of children), but are there obscene materials that are otherwise legal? In oher words, things that can be done between consenting adults? If I get an e-mail from a friend who writes the word "c*nt" five hundred times, is that obscene? What about violent/sexual fiction? I'm curious as to who writes the rules on obscenity.

With extreme distaste for the notion of victimless crimes,

BTW: Since some people can't read a post long enough to get the full meaning, let me just clarify: child pornography is wrong, evil, illegal, obscene, and is deserving of the worst kind of punishment. What I am querying about here is consentual stuff between adults.
