Obviously, you didn't understand what the movie was about. It wasn't about the girls killing themselves. if you read the bood (which you should, it is awesome) you would realize that it is about the loss of innocence (basically). there is a lot of hidden meanings and symbolism that you aren't getting. if you read the book it explains why they only played records to each other on the phone (the title of the book is actually a title of a song, as it explains in the book) i think this was a really good movie and an even better book. take the time to read it and you will understand the movie and its actuall meaning:)
