I prefer the other direction -- a short short story by Isaac Asimov, in which the Devil is waiting for the next would-be damned soul to enter his office. The Devil ois worried about the ultimate selfless wish, which, if it's ever wished by any applicant, will put him in chains and torment till long past the end of time and bring the Day of Judgment.
The would-be damned soul walks in and sits down. The Devil asks, "What do you want?"
The applicant says, "I want -- with absolutely no psychological or physical or other change in myself -- to be transformed into the most loathsome, immoral, evil, selfish human being who ever lived."
The Devil screams.
