i seem to remember that they are basically 2 types of volcanoes. The kind that just spew a bunch of lava(like Hawaii) and the type that explode(like MT. St. Helans). Looking at where LA is located at, I don't think it would be a Hawaii style Volcano more like a Exploder. Exploders build up over time and I don't know of any dormat volcanoes in the LA area. More likely if they had an earthquake some lava might ooze out. Also Lava is very, very, very hot. YOu can't just walk up to it or stand 20 feet from it without burning. Every stand by a really big fire? Multiply by 1000 for lava, Standing it it? Instant Flames.
