I too read "American HEro", and thought it was pretty good, so naturally I was fairly disapointed when I saw this piece of crap. The movie's plot is so skeletal you can see right through the pontification. Was this film nominated for anything other than Dustin Hoffman for best actor? That would bite (like this movie), but I suppose it would flow well with the quality of the other nominees.
