01/02/1999: Stanley Kubrick references in Coen brothers films (spoilers)

I've listed them in order of likely-hood to be intentional.

In the Hudsucker Proxy in the scene in which Norville comes back from a golf game to the dimly lit board room and Mussburger tells him about the "Stealing the hula-hoop from Buzz" story in the paper, Mussburgers briefcase lies open at the end of the table. At one point, it is filmed at an angle so that no features are distinguishable and the case and its shadow appear to be a single figure. It looks exactly like the monolith from 2001 (until he closes it).

Also in the Hudsucker Proxy, Norville runs into Buzz at a bar on New Year's Eve. Even though it's not true, Buzz has become convinced that Norville really did steal the idea from him and decks him. The rest of the drunken party-goers then chase Norville through the streets. Norville turns into an alley and leaps over a bum with a bottle. The bum is dressed the same as, propped up the same way as, filmed at the same angle as, and lit in the same way as the tramp in A Clockwork Orange. He's also singing, but is's not the same song.

In Raising Arizona, John Goodman and however his partner is go to a restroom at a gas station after escaping from prison. Written on the door are the letters "POE" and underneath that "OPE;" "Purity of Essence" and the three letter code prefix from Dr. Strangelove. It's also interesting to note that you can get an even better look at the door just before Leonard Smalls, the tracker, knocks it down. This is interesting because as Mandrake discovers the pad with "Purity of Essence" and "Peace on Earth" written all over it, Lt. 'Bat' Guano breaks down the door, and then opens the door to the restroom to see Gen. Ripper's body.

That's all I have, I'd like to here any other's if you've got them.
