Waking Ned made a refreshing change from the usual rubbish that is put out - guns, drugs, killings and sex. I agree with David Kelly, in one of his comments, that at the end of the day all that matters is friendship - and that makes life worth living. The music was great, the acting was superb. The film strongly evoked a spiritual sense of striving and yearning, which begins in this life but cannot be fulfilled in this life. 'Chewing gum for the eyes' aficionados need to dig a bit deeper in themselves and have the courage to face the real issues of life and death instead of chasing after superficial titillation.
