I feel like an antique!! :-) Not that it'll stop me from rambling on about more songs.......sooooooooo, let me add a few more OLD songs, to further perpetuate my image as a true child of the 70's.......
"Can We Still Be Friends" Todd Rundgren - doesn't quite have the bold lyricism of say, "Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor" by the Eels (*wink* to Lionel), but screw it....it's a great "sad" song.
HEY LOOK!!! Another Elton John tune.....which I know everyone is breathlessly awaiting to hear! *rolls eyes*
"Empty Garden" (Hey Hey Johnny) - I occasionally forget about this little gem written by Elton after the shooting death of his friend John Lennon. It's not only sad, but lyrically perfect.
"...and now it all looks strange...It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain....and I've been knocking, but no one answers....and I've been knocking most all the day..... ....and I've been calling....oh hey hey Johnny.... Can't you come out and play?"
and...she's...buyyying...the...stairrrway...to...heavennnn..
G'Mom
PS: A mule??? Nick, I thought "Timothy" was about a dog...LOL....For extra bonus points - name the one hit wonder band which did this song...
