Gee...I went to see this "Warriors of Virtue" in the hopes I might be able to reccomend it to my students BECAUSE of its mythological content. I thought, this might be a really useful tool for my Oriental Studies classes. Imagine! Chinese mythology on the big screen! How much more can an educator ask for?
Well, I have to agree with Mr. Cranky and virtually everyone else who didn't like this film. I don't know where this Darkeforce person is coming from, but I wish they'd stop resting on their laurels. So you know Chinese lore. So do I. So what? This was a film made for a Western audience, that isn't SUPPOSED to be familiar with the mythological background. When film maker and audience do not meet on a mutual plane, a bad movie occurs.
Darkeforce--go find a unicorn or something, hey? Leave modern film to the groundlings.
