This movie is a wonderful look at the mythos behind a different culture than Western Civilization. This is based on a Chinese background, and is very true to it. The concept of the five elements is key in Chinese culture. They did not get the idea from CAPTAIN PLANET or POWER RANGERS. It is more likely that the media industry got their idea from Chinese Mythology. These guys are tapping into the original! (P.S. the idea of a Theme Team came from Japan (a Japanimation Series called GATCHAMAN [ more recently known as BATTLE OF THE PLANETS or EAGLE RIDERS]). Some of you may have found some of the concepts vague (and thus believed the movie sucked). Actually, it is more intended to appeal to an audience with a different cultural background. (after all, the McDonald Jokes in PULP FICTION would make little to no sense to Chinese audiences). Most importantly, this is a visual extravaganza, with great sets, high-tech costumes, and a fun story. To those of you who know next to nothing of Asian culture, I can understand the "4 BOMBS" rating; but do yourselves a favour. Go study up on ancient Chinese culture, then watch the movie again. I think you will enjoy it from that point of reference as much as I did.
