09/12/00: The summer of my discontent

Posted By: Redundancies

I saw precious few movies this summer, though there were some that I wanted to see but never got around to seeing.

Here's the list of movies I saw, ranked as I see fit.

X-MEN - Most people thought this was very good, so I don't feel a need to justify it to anyone.

GLADIATOR - Ditto.

GONE IN 60 SECONDS - Pure ride. Pure adrenaline rush. I LOVE movies like this, even though the plot ended up being pointless.

ROAD TRIP - Funny how none of the comedies were ranked higher than any of the action movies. Oh well. I haven't seen a *really* funny straight comedy since BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD. Not even SOUTH PARK was as good.

ME MYSELF & IRENE - Jim Carrey pretty much saves this film from being on the the BOTTOMSIES.

BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE - Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Mah-in.

And here's the list of movies that I'll probably end up seeing as soon as they come out on video, in alphabetical order:

HIGHLANDER: ENDGAME - I dunno, maybe I'm just getting nostalgic over his role as Rayden. But I saw the trailer adn thought it looked pretty good.

HOLLOW MAN - I just wanna see the effects, man. :)

THE PATRIOT - Maybe. I've never seen BRAVEHEART.

SCARY MOVIE - No matter how bad the movie is, it has to be funnier than hala the "comedies" I've seen.

SHANGHAI NOON - It's Jackie Chan!
