I liked it, and would probably put it in a top ten of the past six months, simply because it was surrounded in such poor releases. Given the subject matter - first-generation immigrant familes - 'East is East' could have been a lot more entertaining, and hard-hitting. O'Donnell never made you feel like you were part of the Khan family, just an outsider looking in. Perhaps if my parents were Pakistani (or Croatian, Italian, Rwandan or whatever) I would have enjoyed it more.

But then, I can't really vote here, because summer is actually just around the corner.
