11/12/1998: Continuing on

Darksider walked out, listening to what sounded like Siren's wail.

Bulworth and the others stood, staring, wishing their commanding officer would not go, but too afraid to argue with him.

Dark walked out, following the sound. Suddenly, Siren came crashing through the ferns and collapsed at his feet.

Dark was surprised, he had thought Siren dead.

Siren looked up, "What's wrong with me?"

Dark shook his head, "I don't know. I thought you were dead."

"My legs," Siren said faintly, "What's wrong.....?"

After her came Wulfgar.

"There you are, lass," he said, smiling.

Dark raised his weapon. Wulfgar smiled and seemed about to makequick end of Dark.

"No!" Siren screamed. "Don't shoot! Please!"

They stopped and looked at her.

Wulfgar took a couple steps towards Siren, who coward down against Darksider.

"Siren, yer not fully connected yet. Ye have to stay with me."

Siren stared, unmoving and frightened. Her gaze became fixed at a point beyond Wulfgar. She saw something lurching along the horizon towards them.

"Oh my God...." She managed.

"What?" Dark asked, squinting his eyes, "I don't see anything."

Siren shook her head, "What do you mean? How can you not see it? Something's coming towards us!"

"You're crazy, Siren," Dark replied. He faced Wulfgar, "What have you done to her, you sick son of a bitch?"

Wulfgar smiled. "I saved her life. Her vision's been enhanced, so you may not be able to see what she sees."

"It's....it's....it's..." Siren stammered.

Dark, still staring intently, said, "Oh. I see a little bit of movement. Could be anything."

"It's Richard!" Siren cried. "He looks ghastly. Oh my God!"

"Richard?" Dark shook his head, "He's dead."

"Aren't I supposed to be dead?"

"Well....yeah."

Siren propped herself up on Darksider, "He's lurching towards us. He's all covered with blood. My God, he looks awful."

Dark glanced at Wulfgar suspiciously, "Did you do something to him too?"

Wulfgar shook his head, "No. I don;t know anyone named Richard. I'v been marooned here for the past-"

"Shut up," Dark said. "C'mon. We have to get out of here."

"I'm going with ye," announced Wulfgar.

Dark nodded. He didn;t like it, but Wulfgar seemed to know more about Siren's condition and seemed to be the only one who could help her. He picked up Siren and prepared to return to the ship. Siren resisted.

"That's Richard," she insisted, "We can't just leave him!"

"We won't leave him. I'll get you to the ship, and then I'll get him."

Siren was forced to agree. She didn't have a choice. They arrived at the ship, and Dark gave Siren to Wulfgar, then turned and went back to get Richard.
