The main road out to where I live (actually the road I live on) has water on it from the "storm surge", and parts are closed off. A friend of mine called earlier and said that my road was closed closer to downtown, and I'd better not try to get out in my low, little car.
So I walked on down a ways. Small branches were broken up all over the sidewalk and road, and two small trees were completely down. There was water from the bay splashing up onto the road, and waves where the water's usually glasslike.
llamasex - if anything happens to me, hmmm, about the only things I've got worth any value are (counting on one hand); okay, you can have my vintage Ludwigs.
MEB - hope your folks are doing all right.
MayorBob - I know, women who live near the water get what they deserve. I could choose to live further away from the water, then I wouldn't have this problem. (sorry, Grundle, couldn't resist)
