On a per capita basis, American health care costs significantly more, despite 50 million Americans having no health care whatsoever, and tens of millions more being underinsured or one serious illness away from bankruptcy.
Rich Republicans like it that way, because they can afford health care and because our wildly overpriced system funds large health care and pharaceutical corporations. It's a win-win system for rich conservatives. And, of course, they have brainwashed the Republi-peaseants into believing that this is the best system for them.
