I (like a few others here) agree that the executives should be facing perjury charges for lying under oath. Just like your hero Bill Clinton.
BUT, whereas the execs have known since 1953, everyone else has known -- or been privvy TO that knowledge -- since the 60s.
I've known al my life that smoking can/will kill you. This old Democratic dipshit who had his head buried in the sand for 35 years deserves no sympathy from you or me. How can you possibly fail to acknowledge the existence of the Surgeon General's Warning for the past 40 years (+/- a few years)??
When will you EVER expect ANYONE to assume ANY DEGREE of personal responsibility for their actions, convenor?
Explain this to me. Why do you refuse to EVER hold ANYONE accountable for their own actions?
If someone shoots someone else, you blame gun makers. If someone smokes for 30 years, you blame the cig. industry. If someone drinks and drives and wrecks, you blame the Auto and Alcohol industry. When OJ slaughtered Nicole and Ron, you blamed the Knife makers. Fuck, if I miss a 3-foot putt, is it the fault of the golf course?
Grow up, convenor. Stop expecting everyone else to take the blame for an individual's conscious decisions they make for themselves.
