02/13/06: Re: CON AIR was a guilty pleasure for me

One amusing thing about CON AIR is spotting the movies it shamelessly imitated. The scene with John Malkovich striding along the plane's fuselage brings to mind Lawrence of Arabia on the wrecked train; the one with child- killer Steve Buscemi conversing with the little girl comes straight from _M_; the one with the plane screeching past the air traffic control tower comes from IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD, WORLD. Even the fire engine chase comes from a lesser James Bond movie (A VIEW TO A KILL).

Didn't Simon West also do the TOMB RAIDER movie?
