What the hell is my problem with the right?

If the left wing is imperfect, corrupt and often complacent, the right wing is the definition of evil. Let's not mince words over this, where the left wing stands up for the good of everyone, sometimes even proving wrong in their solutions, the right wing stands up for evil.

Take the recent example of Graeme Frost. The kid is 12 years old, and he got health care through SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program) for his state. He happened to be the voice of SCHIP as chosen by the Democrats.

Now take Redstate.org. A fairly mainstream rightwing site, and the posts of one mbecker. mbecker was not a troll on that site. He was not a first time member. He was a respected poster and he posted that he didn’t care what happened to the kid, but that the Frosts, the whole family, should have their lives ruined because their child got healthcare.

That is the right wing.

Take the case of the pregnant teenager. She is screwed once when she meets the wrong guy and screwed for the rest of her life when she is damned for finding work (and thus, not having time to look after her child), damned for living off of welfare (and thus being a burden on the state), and if she does not go through with it, damned for having an abortion. There is no compassion there, and the pro-life argument has frequently got nothing to do with the sanctity of life, but rather the sanctity of a child as a holy punishment onto its parents.

Take any example you want, of a case where the state actually helps people, be it welfare grants, social security, pensions, public healthcare, all are dubbed nanny statism by a bunch of people who think the president has the right to order your phone bugged, your house searched, and you arrested without warrants.

The left wing does not trust the government. Only a fool trusts the government. What the left wing does though is it demands performance by the government. If I am going to pay taxes I do not want to see kids begging by the side of the road. I do not want to hear horror stories of people bleeding to death in hospital waiting rooms. I do not want to hear about these things because I do not want them to happen.

Thus, I support paying higher taxes. When those taxes go towards improving the lives of others and making my living circumstances better, I support paying those taxes. I do not support paying taxes where it means bridges to nowhere, wars with nobodies, and money going into the back pocket of somebody who is simply politically connected.

I oppose the nanny state of the right, which though it provides me with no benefits and strives its utmost to avoid being held responsible for proving to be of any service to its citizens, thinks it has the right to tell me what to think, do, or say. I oppose a nanny state where torture is seen as a decent means of gathering information, not simply because torture isn’t that effective, but because torture is inherently wrong.

I oppose the right wing and therefore I am of the left. I am proudly liberal in my beliefs not because there is a single party line to the left, but because I am willing to disagree with party lines and, unlike the right wing, my moral convictions don’t begin and end with my dick, and whom I stick it in.

I am left wing because according to my morality, slamming a kid and cursing its family for that kid getting healthcare is wrong.
