Althought this might I further the argument, I feel as though I need to add this...
My fiancee's grandfather (on her mother's side) was nearly recruited into Chavez's group. He resisted; he didn't want to single himself out as a target to radicals.
Chavez himself (not someone in his organization) threatened to kill his wife and kids unless he joined with Chavez.
Much like Rodney King, Caesar Chavez was not as noble and innocent as people would like to believe. Was his cause right? Yes. Absolutely. Was Chavez's cause worthy of support? Again, yes. But was Chavez HIMSELF worthy to be revered as much as he is? No. I don't think so; not after talking with my fiancee's grandmother about it.
