Bill Rosenberg did much to further the concept of franchising. In 1960, Rosenberg founded the International Franchise Association (IFA), a group of more than 800 franchisors and 30,000 franchisees. Today, the group maintains its influence in the franchising business, which accounts for nearly 50% of all retail business. A devout horseman, he owned Wilrose Farm in New Hampshire, one of the biggest and well known Standard Bred racing stables in the country. Mr. Rosenberg believed in helping others and supported various causes such as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Vector Laboratory at Harvard Institute of Human Genetics. Coming from the Depression Era, Bill Rosenberg new how tough times could be and always embodied the spirit of hard work and giving good value for a dollar. His philosophy lives on in Dunkin’ Donuts since his passing at age 86 in 2002.
